Please join us on <strong>April 14, 2012,<\/strong><br \/>\nfor this free presentation and guided nature walk to learn haiku<br \/>\npoetry. PowerPoint presentation, handouts, writing exercises,<br \/>\nand more \u2014 learn about <em>kigo<\/em> (season words), <em>kireji<\/em> (dividing the<br \/>\npoem into two juxtaposed parts), and <em>shasei<\/em> (images from the<br \/>\nfive senses). The night\u2019s winners will be awarded<br \/>\nspots on the 2012 Seattle National Poetry Slam Team: the\u00a0four poets that will represent Seattle at the National Poetry\u00a0Slam in Charlotte, NC against over 80 other teams from<br \/>\nacross the nation and Canada.
