Dear polar bear—pale warrior, snow
\nWalker, seal hunter, floe-to-floe
\nSwimmer—when you tire and slip below
\nThe water’s surface, do you see ghosts<\/p>\n
Of other drowned bears and join the ursine
\nMigration into a far north afterlife?
\nOf course not. But, polar bear, when you die,
\nI hope you are dreaming of blood and ice.<\/p>\n
