We will<br \/>\nourselves into bed, away from Netflix, X-<br \/>\nbox, the new astonishing app that counts<br \/>\ncalories, miles to go, snowflakes, the next<br \/>\nminute\u2019s number of moans: O happy grunt<br \/>\nthat says hey-ho, this is done, pixilated<br \/>\nand, best of all, uploadable as a ring tone<br \/>\nthat goes fishy, fleshy, fowl. Someone\u2019s IPhone<br \/>\nmeasures the speed of a bird penetrating<br \/>\nthe lake to seize a foundering Kokanee.<br \/>\n\u201cSo fast!\u201d Not death, the connectivity.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.poetryfoundation.org\/bio\/tod-marshall\">Tod Marshall<\/a> was born in Buffalo, NY.\u00a0 He earned an MFA degree from Eastern Washington University and a PhD in literature from the University of Kansas.\u00a0 His first collection of poetry,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Dare-Say-Contemporary-Poetry-Marshall\/dp\/0820324620\"><em>Dare Say<\/em>,<\/a> was the 2002 winner of the University of Georgia\u2019s Contemporary Poetry Series. He has also published a collection of his interviews with contemporary poets,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Range-Possible-Conversations-Contemporary-Poets\/dp\/0910055785\"><em>Range of the Possible<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(EWU Press, 2002), and an accompanying anthology of theinterviewed poets\u2019 work,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Range-Of-Voices-Collection-Contemporary\/dp\/0910055939\"><em>Range of Voices<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>(2005).\u00a0 In 2005, he was awarded a Washington Artists Trust Fellowship.
