{"id":1517,"date":"2013-03-21T08:29:37","date_gmt":"2013-03-21T16:29:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kathleenflenniken.com\/blog\/?p=1517"},"modified":"2013-03-21T08:29:37","modified_gmt":"2013-03-21T16:29:37","slug":"announcements-8","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kathleenflenniken.com\/blog\/?p=1517","title":{"rendered":"Announcements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SPENCER REECE WILL READ FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SEATTLE<\/p>\n<p>Poet <a href=\"http:\/\/www.poetryfoundation.org\/bio\/spencer-reece\">Spencer Reece<\/a>\u00a0will be reading from his forthcoming collection of poems, \u00a0<em>The Road to Emmaus, <\/em>at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/hugohouse.org\/\">Richard Hugo House<\/a> on <a href=\"http:\/\/hugohouse.org\/event\/2013\/mar\/james-franco-filmed-spencer-reece-poem\">Monday, March 25.<\/a>\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.poetryfoundation.org\/poetrymagazine\/poem\/242650\">The title poem<\/a> recently appeared in <em>Best American Poetry 2012,<\/em> edited by Mark Doty.<\/p>\n<p>The evening \u00a0will include a screening of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=toCmeSMaU78\">James Franco&#8217;s short film<\/a> based on Reece&#8217;s poem, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.poets.org\/viewmedia.php\/prmMID\/16689\">&#8220;The Clerk&#8217;s Tale.&#8221;\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0Spencer Reece will also discuss his work at <a href=\"http:\/\/ourlittleroses.org\/\">Our Little Roses orphanage for girls<\/a> in Honduras, where he is currently spending a Fulbright Year.
