GENERATIONAL TIES\u00a0ON THE PALOUSE<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This is a local road;
\nthe avenue for everyday movement;
\nthe only direct access for me to local farms;
\nthe gallery for the art of spring wheat, fall wheat
\nthat will go gold among dispersing clouds;
\nand the twisting road tying the generations.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There must certainly be a road.
\nBut I notice its minimal dimensions.
\nSpring shoots begin at the road\u2019s edge,
\nroll up to and beyond the many ridges,
\nwhile packing jauntily among their own.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There must certainly be frequent return
\n(for those like me unsuited to residence);
\nthere must be bread to sustain our lives;
\nthere must be the will to roam this road;
\nthere must be love for local displays of light.<\/p>\n

Keith Moul’s<\/a> latest \u00a0full length collection is\u00a0Reconsidered Light<\/em>\u00a0from Broken Publications. \u00a0His\u00a0poems have been published widely for almost 45 years.\u00a0 Recently two chaps have been released: The Grammar of Mind<\/em> <\/a>(2010) from Blue & Yellow Dog Press<\/a> and Beautiful Agitation<\/em><\/a> (2012) from Red Ochre Press.\u00a0 He\u00a0also publishes photos widely.\u00a0 In fact, in 2010 a poem written to accompany one of Keith’s photos was a Pushcart nominee.<\/p>\n
